I do like hawks and eagles, I don't even mind ducks. So on occasion I can be talked in to going to Montezuma Wildlife Refuge, the local hotspot for waterfowl and birds of prey. Which is exactly what we did yesterday. I have to admit that my highlight was not the birds, but all the turtles I got to see. I even got to play with my Mom's digital and got some pretty cool pics, which she took home before I remembered to get them from her. I'm pretty sure they were all painted turtles. I'll post the pics when I get them. In the meantime here are what some of the other things we saw look like. (In order, Green Heron, American Bittern, Osprey)

Wow, those are all birds that I haven't seen! They're cool! I'm the same kind of birder you are--I like the big ones and could care less about LBBs (little brown birds). I like woodpeckers the best.
Guess I won't see you at this end of the summer anyway. You should come visit at camp this summer for real.
