So the clinic has come and gone and despite causing major anxiety attacks on my part (yeah so I wish I was kidding), it went really really well.
There were 25 participants, who gave incredibly positive feedback. A number have asked for more. So now I've got to decide if this is going to be an annual event. Someone suggested a gear swap, others wanted more of a panel and discussion areas available. Another possibility is getting something together right before the season starts.
It was just so affirming to know that all the work that I put into it was appreciated. That my on a whim idea triggered by the grant announcement was right on the money as far as what women want in getting information and support on triathlons.
And it is exciting to know that a couple of friends that came to help and just kind of check things out have decided to give it a tri. I still got to work some on one of them but I think I can get her into a team one in the middle of the summer and hopefully into the Finger Lakes one in September on her own. (Yes, Yes I'm talking about YOU!)

Here are some pics from the clinic. Thanks to Deb.

Thank you THANK YOU to Katie, Kelly & Deb who ran the registration table. It was such a relief to know I had reliable people. Thank you to the Seniors that prepared the meal, you exceeded my expectations. And thank you to the students that helped set up, take down and fill in through out the day. Last but not least, thank you Andrew for encouraging me to write the grant, for putting up with me the two weeks leading up to the clinic, and for all your help the day of.

Yay for the way cool tri clinic! By the way, I am going to send my feedback form to you, probably by e-mail. Never got around to it while I was there.
We have a snow day today! Nebraskans aren't prepared for snow... I think there's five inches or less out there. It is blowing a lot, but really, people, it's no blizzard or anything. No complaints here, I'm glad for one more day of break! My only bummer is I am SO motivated to be running and biking and out enjoying nice weather, only to come back to winter. It sucks, to say the least.
Thanks for all your hard work, Kim. It went beautifully, and was very inspiring (as evidenced by the fact that I sold my soul for a pretty blue Trek).
Snow days are AWESOME, we never get them, everyone knows what to do with snow here.
There's always stretching & flexibility exercises and strength training you can do when the weather is crummy.
Not the same when you're pumped up to get going but definatly an important part in the balance.
