After taking a few weeks off after my last race I have spent this whole past week saying "tomorrow I've got to start training again". A whole week has gone by and I still have done nothing. I did go for a walk today during the 45 minutes of sun that we had. It has rained everyday for a week and a half and it is supposed to continue for another week or so, maybe longer but that is only as far out as the weather reporters will talk about. I hate fall.
Ironman Kona was today, I caught the last few minutes on their live online broadcast tonight. It's not on TV until the 12th of November. Motivation to get off my butt and start training...I am going to do a 10K turkey day run on American thanksgiving. I found a 6 week training plan that will just be the right time if I start now.

So start training! Go Kim!! I've set my mind on the 1/2 marathon in Lincoln the first Sunday in May. I've been running with a girl and I think it means I'm gonna have to ditch her... she's enough slower than me that I don't raise my heartrate enough even in our three mile run to be challenging my endurance at all. Which while that is good, since it means that I've gotten more fit, it's bad because I'm not getting any fitter running with her. It's harder to motivate by myself though, running partners a are a blessed thing. But anyway, I'm running 40 minutes four times a week now. I want to move that up to 45 minutes three times a week and an hour-plus long run on Sundays, and just hold that until January or February. Then I'm going to start a training plan for a half marathon that I found in runners world. When you did your first triathlon, did you wonder if you could do it? I really wonder if I can actually run 13.2 miles...
Gotta go! I do check your blog out so keep writing!
When I did my first tri I was with a team so I only had to run 3 miles and I almost puked at the end of it :)
The first part is usually easy cause you have all the hype, same with the end. It is when you are out in the middle of the lake and just caught a wave...in the mouth...as you are taking a breath...that you begin to wonder WHAT I am doing, I HATE swimming. I find the bike very relaxing and then when I hit the run I really am pushing hard. A) cause there are people cheering and encouraging you and B) running is my strong leg of the race.
Hey thanks for commenting on my blog Kim, doesn't it make it easier to keep posting? Union is SUPER fun, and seriously, if you guys want quality taskforce, you should get Andrew to come recruit here. Simply how many people from Union work at LLC and are excellent is a good indicator of the quality here. You really don't meet people here who aren't nice. It's a lot more spiritually focused here than anywhere else I've been and people are really mission-minded. A lot of people go out as SMs and TF. Hey, tell Andrew to tell Sue that I thought of her while I was line dancing and it's a lot harder (and more fun!) than I thought. Anyway, I'll let you know how the second time goes, but I hope things there are good. :) G'night.
