How did your weekend go? Better than mine I hope.
I was home sick Wednesday, Thursday I went in to do some paperwork and stuff but I didn't have any clients and still was feeling a little off so went home early. Friday I woke up and was happy to see I was feeling somewhat better. I went to get in the shower and as I was waiting for the shower to get hot I stretched up over my head trying to wake up, and POP something went in my back and I had shooting pain up into my neck and I could barely move. So I thought; "pull yourself into the shower, the warm water will help". Well actually, it made it worst, and I had to drag myself to the porcelain goddess because I thought I was going to puke the pain was that bad. So I laid down in bed, then I couldn't get back up. All I could think about was the episode of Sex in the City when Miranda throws her back out and nobody is around to help and Aiden comes and gets her and how mortified she was trying to wrap up in the bath rug. And FYI, Andrew and Rob are out playing golf already and Alie is still sleeping. So I finally manage to get out of bed on my own with muffled screams so I don't wake her up and find the card for my chiropractor and call him almost in tears, he can see me in 45 minutes. SO I finally get enough clothes on to wake up Alie to see if she can drive me down there. He does a bunch of stuff to my back that only kind of helps and then tries something with my arms and POP it goes right back into place. It appears I had dislocated something between my clavicle and sternum and it in turn had yanked stuff out of wack on the opposite side of my spine by my shoulder blade!
I was still in quite a bit of pain Saturday and Sunday. But that was more like a bruise, kind of felt like I had taken a slapshot to the back of my shoulder.
So I hope THAT never happens again.
Hope your weekend was better than mine. I'm now crazily working on getting everything together for French Trip this weekend. I have the itinerary all together it's just calling all the places to give them a heads up this is when we're going to be there. And some restaurant reservations.

Book Review: The Last Templar

I read this book over the weekend. It's one of the top books on NY Times list, so I assumed it would be good, don't assume just cause a book makes it onto a prestigious list it will be good. If you're looking for an alternative beach read to Harlequin or Cosmo, this might be the book. The plot is lace thin and predictable from the beginning. It's the writer's first novel, he has experience writing screenplay and it shows through very much in his writing style. Everything is laid out for you, no thinking or imagining necessary. My two biggest pet peeves about the book were:
1) His repetitive use of "pregnant silence", no one can just be quiet & they don't laugh or smirk either, they all "chortle". Very annoying by the time you get halfway through the book.
2) He wasn't even clever enough to come up with character names, in his acknowledgements he lists all the people he wants to thank, as most authors do. The names looked VERY familiar. Many of the last names he used in the book were names of friends and family he acknowledges at the end. LAME-O!
